What is Pilates?
Developed by Joseph Pilates (1880-1967), Pilates draws inspiration from
both Western and Eastern exercise regimes with the aim of strengthening
the body while providing greater flexibility and optimal posture. Regular
Pilates practice will:
create a supple, powerful body
build stronger, leaner, more flexible muscles
relieve stress and improve mood, creating a general sense of well-being
alleviate pain and assist with the establishment of optimal posture
